Michael Englebert is a freelance broadcaster whose programs over the past 50 years have been heard across the country in such markets as Victoria B.C., Edmonton Alberta, Ottawa, Kingston, Montreal, and Toronto. Englebert has been heard for over two decades on Air Canada’s in-flight audio, announcing/producing programs about stage musicals and classical music. He also does the voicing for IT training courses available over the internet. Michael for five years was the product manager for BMG Music responsible for the marketing of RCA Victor's Broadway music. In addition to announcing and producing 'APPLAUSE, music from Broadway, Hollywood & the London stage'© from his own studio for AM740 for over 20+ years, plus reviews of theatrical productions (musicals etc). Englebert’s originating education was in Radio and Television Arts at the institution that is now Ryerson University. Upon graduation he worked as a radio producer and would be involved in originating North American wide Teach-In broadcasts in the 1960s. He also was involved in producing nightly radio coverage of conventions that were developed into programs. In covering news and entertainment some of the highlights include programs with satirist Stan Freberg; film director Alfred Hitchcock; and classical composer Zoltan Kodaly. The broadcasting phase of his career would take place primarily in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. His radio program “APPLAUSE, music from Broadway, Hollywood and the London stage”© was for a period of time syndicated across the country.
Michael has specialized in broadcasting classical music and this led him to symphony orchestra management. He would for two years announce a weekday four hour evening classical music program for CFMX (now CFMZ Toronto). For a decade he managed symphony orchestras in Toronto, Victoria (BC) and Edmonton (AB).
Englebert has been in sales in the Information Technology field selling to Fortune 1000 companies in the US and Canada from 1996 to 2005.
